Just have to say...

That after reading a few spoilers I shouldn't have read (bad me, bad bad me!!) I just have to say: Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!!

That's it for now...

*Spoiler* review of the Love Tour

Boy bands are not what they used to be. Or maybe they are what they used to be. Exhibit A: the Irish boy group Westlife, former home of Brian McFadden, who is now Mr Delta Goodrem. At their Sydney concert on Tuesday the boys repeatedly covered the songs of their former competitors. They opened what they called their "tribute to the past" by singing the 1997 Backstreet Boys hit, Everybody, then covered other songs from the prepubescent New Kids on the Block, Take That and the British group BoyZone. "I did not think it was good that, out of the first four songs they sang, three were covers," said one boy band fanatic, Alexandra Kirby. And in a bizarre twist for the audience - of mostly teenage girls - Westlife then dedicated their song You Raise Me Up to none other than the radio shock jock Alan Jones. It looks like McFadden got out just in time. Pop is well and truly eating itself. http://blogs.smh.com.au/sit/archives/2007/03/in_town_the_past_is_their_prim.html

Bad job?

MY JOB . . .. . . ..
If you don't laugh out loud after you read this you are in a coma! This is even funnier when you realize it's real! Next time you have a bad day at work think of this guy.

Rob is a commercial saturation diver for Global Divers in Louisiana . He performs underwater repairs on offshore drilling rigs.

Below is an E-mail he sent to his sister. She then sent it to radio station 103.2 on FM dial in Ft. Wayne , Indiana , who was sponsoring a worst job experience contest. Needless to say, she won.

Hi Sue, Just another note from your bottom-dwelling brother.

Last week I had a bad day at the office. I know you've been feeling down lately at work, so I thought I would share my dilemma with you to make you realize it's not so bad after all ..

Before I can tell you what happened to me, I first must bore you with a few technicalities of my job.

As you know, my office lies at the bottom of the sea. I wear a suit to the office. It's a wet suit. This time of year the water is quite cool. So what we do to keep warm is this: We have a diesel powered industrial water heater. This $20,000 piece of equipment sucks the water out of the sea. It heats it to a delightful temperature.

It then pumps it down to the diver through a garden hose, which is taped to the air hose. Now this sounds like a darn good plan, and I've used it several times with no complaints.

What I do, when I get to the bottom and start working, is take the hose and stuff it down the back of my wet suit. This floods my whole suit with warm water. It's like working in a Jacuzzi.

Everything was going well until all of a sudden, my butt started to itch.

So, of course, I scratched it. This only made things worse. Within a few seconds my butt started to burn. I pulled the hose out from my back, but the damage was done. In agony I realized what had happened.

The hot water machine had sucked up a jellyfish and pumped it into my suit. Now, since I don't have any hair on my back, the jellyfish couldn't stick to it However, the crack of my butt was not as fortunate.

When I scratched what I thought was an itch, I was actually grinding the jellyfish into the crack of my butt.

I informed the dive supervisor of my dilemma over the communicator. His instructions were unclear due to the fact that he, along with five other divers, were all laughing hysterically.

Needless to say I aborted the dive. I was instructed to make three agonizing in-water decompression stops totaling thirty-five minutes before I could reach the surface to begin my chamber dry decompression. When I arrived at the surface, I was wearing nothing but my brass helmet.

As I climbed out of the water, the medic, with tears of laughter running down his face, handed me a tube of cream and told me to rub it on my butt as soon as I got in the chamber.

The cream put the fire out, but I couldn't poop for two days because my butt was swollen shut.

So, next time you're having a bad day at work, think about how much worse it would be if you had a jellyfish shoved up your butt.

Now repeat to yourself, "I love my job, I love my job, I love my job." Now whenever you have a bad day, ask yourself, is this a jellyfish bad day? May you NEVER have a jellyfish bad day!!!!!

Nicky Interview

Access All Areas.net.au:

Congratulations on yet another successful album with the ‘Love Album’!

Westlife - Nicky: Yeah it’s going really well which is great! 2006 was a special year for Westlife in Australia and to now have the Love Album following it’s great!

Access All Areas.net.au: Your new album ‘The Love Album’ was released in Australia late last year, when you went in to record that album, what did you want to do differently from ‘Face To Face’

Westlife - Nicky: Face to Face was the studio album where we obviously worked with lot of different producers, there’s lots of Swedish guys on there and Steve Mac and a lot of original songs and when we were working on this album to be honest with ourselves with the Love Album we wanted to get more original material for the album and because we don’t get the luxury of writing songs, we’re at the helm of song writers and when you’re in that position you’re hoping and banking on producers and songwriters to come up with the goods and that didn’t happen this year so we sat down and asked ourselves “do we wait?” so we sat down with our manager Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell, our AnR Manager and both suggested doing a love album and we pick twelve of the greatest love songs or twelve of our favourite love songs and that was how the idea was born.

Access All Areas.net.au: On the album you’ve recorded a track with Delta Goodrem who Australian’s hold close to their hearts, what was it like working with her and how did that collaboration come about?

Westlife - Nicky: The way it came about was our Manager, Louis, suggest it. He managed us for nine years and he suggested about doing a duet with Delta and to be honest, we were talking about approaching Delta three years ago when she had broken the Australian scene and a mega superstar in Australia and we thought it would be good and that was the plan and it never materialised for what ever reason I’m not sure and then Brian left Westlife soon after and started dating Delta and at this point we’d met Delta and then we just wanted to make sure Brian didn’t feel uncomfortable with the idea so we called him ourselves and we called Delta’s manager and they were all up for it and then we got in to the studio for it and the four of us can’t speak highly enough of Delta. Professionally, she is an amazing singer and on a personal level she is a really lovely girl.

Access All Areas.net.au: Are there any plans to release ‘All Out Of Love’?

Westlife - Nicky: I mean it’s been spoken about lots of times and personally I would love to release it because it would be a huge hit, it’s been a huge hit for different people who’ve released it over the years but there’s lots of politics involved. It’s the music industry and it’s not the easiest thing in the world, and for us to even get it recorded was very positive. I’ll never say never but I would say it’s not likely.

Access All Areas.net.au: Your latest single ‘The Rose’ rocketed up to the top of the UK charts again… your 14th single to hit the top spot earning you yet another Guinness World Record for most singles to debut at number 1. What’s it like to break another record and what were your thoughts when you heard about it?

Westlife - Nicky: It was eight or nine years ago that we started and to this day we still get flabbergasted and excited by that. We’ve had fourteen number ones in the UK, twelve or thirteen Irish number ones and in Europe twelve or something amazing. When we were starting to take off we were successful from the start and then Brian left the band to take a break which meant we lost a member and at the time of our career then we were at an unsteady time. Four or five years in to a boy band they usually call it a day and that was always bouncing around the media and we were not sure where we were going and You Raise Me Up was like a lifeline for us. Our manager had said try this song and we did as a pop song. We turned a song that wasn’t meant to be pop in to a mainstream pop song and it went well around the world and it opned doors for us in Australia and New Zealand and then The Rose that became our fourteenth number one to be honest it’s getting bigger and bigger and bigger and at this stage after eight or nine years you still have to pinch yourself!

Access All Areas.net.au: You came to Australia twice last year for promotional commitments and were to tour in September but unfortunately had to postpone to later this month, are you excited about coming back to Australia to finally tour your material?

Westlife - Nicky: Absolutely! We are well known on this side of the world for our live shows and with our tours we put a lot of time and effort into them, and it’s different to just sitting down and singing songs, we like to make sections in our shows like there’s an energetic part and we have a big back catalogue I mean we’ve got Flying Without Wings, World Of Our Own, Swear It Again, If I Let You Go… songs that have all been hits, maybe not so much in Australia but different parts of the world and touring is a big part of us. We kick off on the 21st of February Perth and it’s nice and it’s amazing that this long in to it that Australia has opened up to us. Access All Areas.net.au: Is there anything that you’re really excited about doing or seeing in Australia in any down time you have?

Westlife - Nicky: Obviously it’s summer down there so the small time of we do have we’ll try and get a sun tan and visit the beach. Kian is a big sufer so he might catch some waves if he can but we’ll chill. We don’t have a lot of time, it’s mainly gig then fly, gig then fly, gig then fly but again it’s nice to be down there and really promoting Westlife and showing off what we do. Access All Areas.net.au: You’ve sold millions of albums around the world; raked up countless number one singles, won dozens of music awards, what do you think has been an attribute to the success of Westlife?

Westlife - Nicky: You can’t put your finger on one thing it’s lots of different things. We’re four of the luckiest guys in the world, I mean anyone would give anything to sample or experience what we do and we’re lucky in that respect, we don’t take things for granted and we’re high working and we don’t lay off. When touring we’ve got the foot on the gas and we don’t let up. We’ve also had a lot of great guys around us, our Manager has been a great inspiration to the band, SonyBMG have been exceptional especially in the international departments, we’re lucky enough to work with Simon Cowell from day one and when it boils down to it generally we get on as people. We have our arguments just like anyone else and we’ll sit down and talk it through. Access All Areas.net.au: What lies for the year ahead for Westlife?

Westlife - Nicky: We’ve got the tour that kicks off in Perth and goes to all the cities: Adelaide, Melbourne, then Sydney and finishes in Brisbane and then on to South Africa and do a heap of cities there and then back to the UK until the middle of April and then back to our home country Ireland and finsh there on May 4. Personally for me, my wife is expecting a baby, we’re expecting twins actually and they’re due in the second week of June.

New phone

Yes! I've finally gt my new phone! (which means a new phonenumber so ask if you want it). Hopefully I'll have better luck with this one... last one broke after 3 weeks, ofcourse I didn't have to pay for it to be fixed but when I got it back it only took a few days before it was broken again!

Other than that it hasn't happened alot today... Me and Lisa went in to town for about half an hour. Bought Eriks new album =)

Playing In The Snow

Feels like it was ages ago I wrote something here but it was only about two days or something like that haha

Anyways, me and Lisa have been out playing in the snow today =D very funny!!

I don't really have much to say...

trying my best to avoid the spoilers. It's getting easier everyday though but it's getting harder and harder not to tell Lisa the few things I already know...

Ah well, hopefully I'll write something a bit more exciting next time =P

Hating Ryanair

Words can not describe how much I hate ryanair at the moment!! They've changed out flight to London so much that if we take that flight we will miss the concert and then on the way home we might miss our flight to Skellefteå! This sucks!!! Hopefully we'll get our money back so we can fly to and from Skavsta instead of Västerås. But either way it'll cost us more money since the flight back to Skavsta is way more expensive than when we booked the Västerås one.

Last time when this happened I said I was never ever going to get a conecting flight with Ryanair but there wasn't much we could do since we didn't have the money to fly with SAS or Brittish Airways but this is so going to be the last time! With or without a conecting flight this is the last time ever that I'm going to fly with Ryanair!!

The Love Tour Setlist

Ok, I know certain people that are reading my blog don't wanna know the setlist so I won't write it. BUT I have to say that I really really don't like it!

- There's not as many songs as it usually is
- There's too many Love Album songs
- No real surprises
- Weird choise of medley songs (although I think it's going to be great anyways)

Some songs are in for obvious reasons so I can't say much about them but theres around five songs that I can't understand why they've included them! Would actually have to say that the opening song should be... well... ehm... intresting. But other than that it's only ONE SINGLE SONG that I'm looking forward to...

I knew I shouldn't have looked at the setlist beforehand...

For the millionth (is there a word like that?) time in 3 years: Westlife please prove me wrong and impress the hell out of me!

Tour Spoilers

Westlife the Love Tour kicks of in Australia tomorrow, which means alot of spoilers! Have looked at the spoilers the last couple of years but this year I'm not! I think... I'm not so sure I can keep myself from looking at them though. I'm definatly not going to look at any videos and hopefully no pics but the setlist... I think I'll have to haha! Especially the medley songs, gotta learn them before Wembley =P But really I don't want to, I want it all to be a complete surprise for once but I know I can't. Too many days between Perth and London, too many people seeing the concert that can talk about it, show pictures etc. But I'll try...

No Total Eclipse Of The Heart

Westlife will no longer be releasing ‘Total Eclipse Of The Heart’ as a single. Although the band love the song, their touring commitments mean that they wouldn’t be able to give the single release the full attention it deserves. Thanks to everyone who has given the song such positive feedback – the boys are very much looking forward to performing it at their live shows.

* From The Official Westlife Forum

Can't say I really mind. Ofcourse I would've wanted to see the video but hopefully that'll be possible in one way or another later on. So I don't know, it doesn't really matter...

Three Boggers and Nicky

Haha I so wanna see the Westlife interview from Childline! Three Boggers and Nicky! Haha!! Saw their performance from Childline a few hours ago =) Total Eclipse Of The Heart was more than just amazing live (sorry)!! Shane, well he sounded like he always does. Very good but still a bit boring. Mark on the other hand, OMG!! Me loves!!!! The Rose was ok I suppose. Would have hoped for them to sing another song than You Raise Me Up but I mean, it's still a good song. I'm just a lil tired of it at the moment. I'm not going to listen to either that one or The Rose even once more before the tour. Cause they'll obviously sing both songs and I don't want to get bored during the concert! Anyways, next song on Childline was Flying Without Wings which ofcourse was the best one! But before that Mark made a wonderful speech (or whatever). Saying that kids can call Childline if they feel the don't have anyone to talk to etc... aww! Last one was World Of Our Own, again... looked and sounded the exact same as last year with everyone coming on stage at the end of the song and everything! Was fun to see Mark, Brian and the ehm... dog(??) though! Just wish I would've been there, maybe next year! Atleast we're going to see Westlife at Wembley so...

Wednesday, February 14, 2007

Stockholm

Back home in Stockholm at the moment. Haven't done much yet but I'm going to meet up with Anna later today =) Hmm... Dunno what to write...

"Have to" do something more or less impossible aswell today... Lisa! Help? (Check your Lunar)

Party

Party yesterday!! Went to Tuss and Flufen around 7... Guess we were around 15 ppl there =) Then around 11 we went to Traversen. Didn't happen alot but we had fun! A certain song wasn't played even though we requested it *wonder why* Or actually... a few weird things happened like when Emm and Flufen were wrestling haha. Best comment though was Flufens: who are we??!!

The best way to your Valentine's heart is a box of luxury chocolates, says Nicky Byrne of boy band Westlife: 'I love it when the two of us have something that we can share' ... And of course roses are red, but posies can be pink and provocative. Liz McLarnon of girl band Atomic Kitten picks the kind of Valentine's Day bouquet that could really make her feel whole again

Interview by Huma Qureshi Sunday February 11, 2007 The Observer

If you don't get any Valentine cards this year, just pretend you did. Nicky Byrne of boy band Westlife says: 'At school everyone would act really cool about how many cards they got, and you knew everyone exaggerated. I'd always say I got seven.'

For the past 14 years, Nicky has had one special Valentine, his wife Georgina, daughter of Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahern. They have been together since school and married in 2003. Georgina is now expecting twins. 'We were very young when we started going out,' he says. 'We've had more than 10 Valentine's Days together, so every year it's getting harder to buy something different.' At least Mrs Byrne will know what to get Nicky - he loved Thornton's 'I Love You' Cups, which he tried for the test. 'I like something we can share, and these are great!' Article continues

If you're single, Nicky says go for it: 'If you fancy someone, use Valentine's as an excuse to ask them out. Why not?'

Westlife's next single, 'Total Eclipse of the Heart', will be out on 12 March. The Love tour starts in the UK on the same day.

1. I Love You Cups, Thorntons, www.thorntons.co.uk, £2.50

Revert back to school days when love letters were 'in', and spell it out with the 'I Love You Cups', a series of five milk chocolate cups [the word love is represented by a heart] filled with a delicious chocobeurre centre, that spell out the immortal words.

Nicky says My favourite: I love these, they are so cute. If you find it a bit awkward to give romantic gifts, this is perfect because they're so small and say 'I love you' in a really sweet way. They taste really nice - not too heavy, not too sickly. The nicest part is that they say they're for 'childhood sweethearts' and that's perfect for my wife and me, so it won us over straight away. As they're so cheap, it would be lovely to give them as a side gift along with something else.

2. Heart gift box, Marks and Spencer, £9.99

An assortment of milk, white and dark chocolates including nut, truffle and caramel centres.

Nicky says Lovely - the truffles have champagne in them too, and you can't go wrong with these. You could just keep popping them in your mouth all day; they are delicious. It's not too big a box either, so you can eat them without it being too much. Good price, and great presentation.

3. Continental Valentine's Day Satin Heart, Thorntons, £25

The perfect way to say 'I Love You' and to keep the love alive. Our striking red Continental Satin Heart contains 56 of our most popular chocolate collection.

Nicky says This was my second favourite. Really lovely box. Everything's beautifully wrapped inside, it's luscious. There's a great selection of chocolates. If you bought these for a girl, it would look like you'd spent money.

4. Velvet Heart Belgian chocolate selection, Marks and Spencer, £30

A selection of milk, dark and white Belgian chocolates. Includes treats such as Buchette, an indulgent mix of smooth white chocolate and crunchy croquant praline.

Nicky says I can see how a girl might love these - the box and the ribbon are pretty. It's absolutely huge too, so it's something you could get for your girlfriend and you'd know she'd love it. Great if you like luxurious chocolates.

5. Hand-decorated truffles, Marks and Spencer, £5.99

This sumptuous and sexy truffle selection combines smooth milk chocolate made with cocoa beans from Ecuador, dark chocolate from Santo Domingo beans and white Belgian chocolate.

Nicky says I really like the white chocolate ones in this box. It's quite an unusual box - black - so could be quite discreet to send. I loved the presentation.

The Committed is back!

Yaaaay!! The Committed (AKA my second home) is back! Have missed it...
Hopefully everything will work this time!

Other than that nothing has really happned today. Figureskating-practise is moved to tomorrow so I haven't got a clue what to do today. Might go to Traversen tonight, we'll see...

New phone

Have finally bought a new phone!! The one I have now isn't really working so it's about time + I got a really great offer :) *Happy*

- I get the phone I actually want

- I send 5000 free texts every month

- I call all Telia mobiles for free

Over and Done!

Does anyone remember the books and tapes where you were supposed to "listen and learn"? Where you listened to a story on a tape while trying to read the story in a book. And every time you where supposed to turn the page it said something like "pling! time to turn the page". However, I was described as that after my speach today... And unfortunatly it's probably true cause it really felt like that! It's not like the teatcher is going to fail me but it really wasn't a good speach! People seamed to like the begining though and I saw a few of them laughing when I told them about Madonna and Shane or Keith or whoever it was. The last part of the ending though, disaster! But atleast I've done it and I don't need to think about it anymore

(and yes, I know it's a CD and not a tape in the pic but I couldn't find any better...)

So tired of this!

Had to re-list my Aberdeen tickets again!! This time cause whoever bid for the tickets never payed them. I'm so ******* tired of this! What's the point in bidding if you don't even want them?

Ah well, if anyone's intrested here's the link:

Have you ever...

Ok so I'm bored! Last post was a few of my oh so funny failures... here's the other, slightly better, slightly exaggerated list.

Have you ever...

... Made Kian smile?
... Owned a AAA-pass?
... Had nachos with Shane and Mark?
... Woken Westlife up by a sing-a-long?
... Seen Dave tie his shoe, just to tie it another four times?
... Informed Nicky where his wife was when he had lost her?
... Had a kiss blown at you from Kian?
... Seen Kian stop in an intersection just to re-pack his car?
... Exercised with Nicky and Georgina?
... Measured Nickys index finger?
... Been silly with Paul?
... Been invited for dinner with some recordcompany guys?
... Made Kian say he loves us?
... Done hi 5 with Mark?
... Been filmed by Nicky?
... Seen Nicky attack Dave?
... Seen Shane make Kian take a picture with us?
... Lended a flag to Nicky?
... Seen Kian dump his dog?
... Seen Nicky crawl through a small hole?
... Impressed Nicky?
... Had Brian throwing eggs at you?
... Given Nicky a pair of gloves in the exact right size?
... At the same time given him a great laugh?
... Used Shanes sunglasses as a mirror?
... Aswell as used Marks sunglasses as a mirror?
... Had one of Brians laughters dedicated to you?
... Seen Mark lean his head to one side for you?
... Gone with Dave in car?
... Been to the movies with Westlife?
... Been to a VIP show?
... Discussed the future of Boyzone with Louis Walsh?
... Chased Dave around a pole?
... Seen Nicky run away from home?
... Tried to read Taiwanese signs with Nicky and Kian?
... Entertained Nicky so much he forgot to sing?
... Watched Winnie the Pooh with Shane?
... Had a small dance-show infront of Nicky?
... Made Brian feel forgotten and at the same time taken his girlfriend?
... Almost let a disguised Shane walk past you?
... Made Kian think he is Nicky?

Have you ever...

Ok so I'm bored so I'm going to make a new "have you ever..." Might translate the old one into english later aswell... if I'm really bored that is! Anyways, here goes...

Have you ever (Westlife)...

... waited for Nicky just to have Shane standing 2cm infront of you? (ok not really a failure)

... waited for Shane when he already left town?

... gone home to bed after waiting hours and hours at the airport just to find out they came with that last flight?

... been at Subway across the road just to see Shane leave the hotel?

... waited a whole night at an airport just to realize they took the bus?

... waited outside a hotel just to find out they wasn't staying at any hotel at all?

... taken the wrong bus and therefore been too late?

... slept another night at an airport just to realize Nicky wasn't flying until the day after?

I have...

Please, just once

"Westlife har haft tolv förstaplaceringar på singellistan i Storbritannien mellan åren 1999 och 2005. Den fjärde största succén i singellistans historia efter Elvis Presley, The Beatles och Cliff Richard. Westlife är också den enda gruppen i singellistans historia som har haft straight at number one med sina första sju singlar. Westlife är den enda gruppen som vunnit Record Of The Year i Storbritannien fyra gånger. Gruppen har sålt omkring 40 miljoner album världen över och har sju multi-platina album." - enjoy.se

When will someone actually write something that's correct? Fine, I admit! It's great that Westlife do get mentioned in Sweden but please! Just for once, get it right! They've had 13 no1s 1999-2005 (14 now after the Rose became no1 in 2006), not 12!!

Speach

Speach in class tomorrow.. I'm so not looking forward to it! Going to talk about Louis Walsh though which makes it a tiny bit funnier. But the teatcher is weird. Very weird!

Ah well, not much else going at the moment. Going home to Stockholm on monday which is going to be great but I can't get the speach out of my head at the moment... sigh!

First one

So my last blog was driving me nuts! Therefore I decided to make a new one. (If anyone is intrested my last blog was annamopp.blogg.se but well, it'sin swedish so it'll be alot easier to read if you know swedish!)

There'll probably be three diffrent things I'm gonna write about

- my life in general
- figureskating
- westlife

so I guess that's it for now and I sure hope this blog works better than the other one..

EDIT: Vote for westlife!! http://www.rixfm.se/?underpage=124.0
